PLC Supply 1-year warranty

Last updated August 2026

Every product we sell and every repair we perform is covered by our complimentary 1-year warranty. It applies to new, refurbished and tested used units alike — and it is in addition to the rights you already have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

The benefits given to you by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods or services to which this warranty relates. This warranty does not replace, limit or affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and your rights under that law may last longer than the period of this warranty.

Who gives this warranty

PLCSUPPLY AUSTRALIA PTY LTD (ABN 94 700 511 208, ACN 700 511 208). Queensland, Australia. Phone +61 422 735 541. Email [email protected].

What this warranty covers

  • Functional failure of a unit under normal industrial operating conditions within its rated specifications.
  • Defects that should have been detected in our pre-despatch bench testing.
  • Repairs we performed, in respect of the fault we repaired and the work we carried out.
  • New, new open-box, refurbished, tested used and repaired units alike — the period is the same for all of them.

Who this warranty is given to

The original purchaser from PLC Supply. It is not transferable, except that if you supply the goods to your own customer as part of your business, we will honour a claim made through you.

What this warranty does not cover

  • Damage caused by installation, wiring, configuration or commissioning that does not follow the manufacturer’s instructions, applicable Standards or applicable law.
  • Operation outside the unit’s rated specifications — including incorrect supply voltage, frequency or phase, over-current, over-temperature, or use outside the rated environmental protection.
  • Physical damage, impact, liquid ingress, contamination, corrosion, insect or vermin damage, or lightning or power-surge damage occurring after despatch.
  • Modification, disassembly, repair or tampering by anyone other than us or a person we authorise, including removal of our warranty seal or asset label.
  • Consumable and wear items — batteries, fuses, filters, fans, seals, lamps, memory cards and contact tips.
  • Cosmetic condition on used, tested used and refurbished units.
  • Firmware and software, firmware version availability, licence entitlements, or any obligation you owe the original manufacturer under an end-user licence agreement.
  • A specific defect we disclosed to you before you bought the unit.
  • A unit used in a safety-related function without independent verification by a competent person.

If a claim falls outside this warranty

You may still have rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and we will assess every claim on that basis as well. Consumer guarantees are not limited to the 12-month warranty period — how long they last depends on what a reasonable person would expect of the particular goods, given their nature, price and condition.

How to make a claim

Contact us at [email protected] or on +61 422 735 541 within the warranty period. Please give us your order or invoice number, the part number and serial number if it is visible, a description of the fault and when it appeared, the supply voltage and installation details, and photographs or video if you can.

We will troubleshoot with you first. Many faults turn out to be configuration or wiring issues we can resolve without you removing the unit, and this step is free.

If the unit needs to come back, we will issue you a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number, tell you the address to send it to, and give you the expected assessment timeframe. Please do not send anything back without an RMA number, as we may not be able to identify it.

Pack the unit to protect it — anti-static packaging for electronics, and enough cushioning to survive freight — and write the RMA number on the outside.

We will test the unit, tell you the outcome, and repair, replace or refund it.

What we will do

If the claim is covered by this warranty, we will repair the unit, supply an equivalent replacement, or refund what you paid for it, at our option.

If the failure is a major failure under the Australian Consumer Law, the choice is yours, not ours: you may choose a refund or a replacement, and you may also claim compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

If the failure is not a major failure, we will repair or replace the unit within a reasonable time. If we cannot, or if we take too long, you may reject the unit and choose a refund or a replacement.

Replacement units may be new, refurbished or repaired units of equivalent specification and condition. A repaired or replaced unit is covered for the remainder of the original 12-month period, or 90 days from the date we return it, whichever is longer.

We will not ask you to take the problem to the manufacturer, and we will not refuse a remedy because you no longer have the original packaging.

Who pays the costs of claiming

If the claim is covered by this warranty, or you are exercising a right under the Australian Consumer Law, we pay the freight to return the unit to us — we will provide a prepaid label or arrange collection — we pay the cost of assessment, repair or replacement, and we pay the freight to send the unit back to you. You will not be out of pocket for a valid claim.

If assessment shows the fault is not covered — for example, the unit was damaged by incorrect voltage — we will tell you before we do any chargeable work, and offer you the choice of a quotation to repair it as a normal chargeable repair, or return of the unit. In that case you pay the return freight, and a diagnostic fee may apply, which we will tell you about and agree with you before we charge it. We will not charge a diagnostic fee where you had reasonable grounds to make the claim.

You are responsible for the cost of removing the unit from your equipment and reinstalling it, unless the Australian Consumer Law entitles you to recover those costs from us as reasonably foreseeable loss — which it may, for example where the failure is a major failure. Tell us what those costs are and we will consider them.

Please insure units in transit to us. Where we provide the label and arrange the freight, the unit is at our risk in transit.

How long this warranty runs

Twelve (12) months from the date we despatch the goods to you, or from the date we return a repaired unit to you.

What this warranty does not do

  • It does not reduce or replace your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
  • It does not transfer any manufacturer warranty to you, or oblige a manufacturer to do anything. Because we are not an authorised distributor, the original manufacturer’s warranty does not apply to the products we supply.
  • It does not grant you any licence to firmware or software, which remains the property of the manufacturer or its licensors.
  • It does not mean a unit is suitable or certified for use in a safety-related function.

If you are not satisfied

Contact us first at [email protected] or on +61 422 735 541 and we will work it through with you. You can also contact the Queensland Office of Fair Trading on 13 QGOV (13 74 68), the ACCC on 1300 302 502, or the consumer protection regulator in your own State or Territory.
